Communications & Community Outreach Coordinator

The Communications & Community Outreach Coordinator will support promotion and storytelling for placemaking initiatives, events, and community partnerships.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and schedule social media content (Instagram, Facebook) to educate, inspire, and promote placemaking

  • Promote events including Bike Valet, placemaking meetups, build projects, and partner events

  • Collaborate with team members to share updates and stories from events and projects

  • Assist with design and copywriting for digital outreach materials

  • Co-develop a content calendar and weekly work plan with supervisors

  • Monitor engagement and recommend strategies to increase visibility and reach

  • Communicate with community partners online and via email

  • Provide weekly reports on activities and progress

  • Support additional events and outreach activities as needed
     

Position Details:

  • Location: Remote-flexible with some in-person event attendance required in Squamish, BC

  • Schedule: Part-time / seasonal (summer)

  • Eligibility: Applicants must be 30 years of age or younger and legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Compensation: $25/hr

Active Transportation + Build Coordinator

Build Project & Bike Valet Operations Officer

The Active Transportation + Build Coordinator will organize, facilitate, and deliver community build projects, and support Bike Valet operations at local summer events. The Bike Valet program focuses on active transportation and community engagement through outdoor events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with build projects, carrying out existing plans with support from staff and board members

  • Perform hands-on, on-site work using supplied tools

  • Coordinate volunteers for build days and assign tasks based on experience

  • Support Bike Valet events, including setup, facilitation, teardown, and materials transport

  • Coordinate volunteers and assist with on-site event delivery

  • Promote events including Bike Valet, placemaking meetups, build days, and partner initiatives

  • Engage volunteers in placemaking activities

  • Co-develop work plans and provide weekly progress reports

  • Communicate regularly with community partners (email, phone, in-person)

  • Support communications through social media updates and documentation

  • Follow best practices for inclusive public engagement

  • Participate in training sessions and meetings

  • Report issues or concerns to supervisors
